POPPOP is provided at the ground level as FlyBy Ads must receive air traffic control approval once live to get clearance to Fly and take glam shots. We understand how important it is to know that the media is live which is why we will provide ground level photos until aerial footage is available. Please note: Rooftops are working rooftops, POP is solely for proof of completion and will look very different from an aerial view.
-
aerial footageWe ask that advertisers allow up to 20 business days for FlyBy Ads to provide aerial footage. Unlike typical OOH media, FlyBy must get approval to fly over our rooftops which does take time.

recommended installation timing: major eventsPlease see the FAQs page for more details. often brands want to advertise for major events. As an example, two very popular events for us are the Super Bowl & Art Basel. When large events come to town, Air Traffic Control around major airports often tightens their policies. It becomes much more difficult as the event nears to get helicopter and/or drone footage. Given these, we strongly recommend if you are purchasing the minimum flight window (28 days), you schedule the go-live date to be: 3 weeks prior to the event And the campaign conclusion to be (unless campaign is extended, a common request when brands see the results of the sign!): 1 week after the event This timing allows a significant buffer between sign installation completion and the event, while also maintaining the 4-week minimum purchase around the entire event. With a 3 week buffer prior to event start date, we at FlyBy Ads will have the best possible chance of obtaining aerial footage of your sign. (See ‘adverse circumstances’ & ‘weather related’ sections for reasons why this is never 100% guaranteed.) However this proposed 3 weeks before / 1 week after timeframe (vs. a timeframe where installation is completed 1 day or 1 week prior to the event) will allow us the best chance of having a smooth aerial footage capture without being hindered by Air Traffic Control. Ultimately, the exact timing for installation is up to The Client, but please note, should The Client ignore these strong recommendations, they are increasing their chances of having an adverse circumstance scenario occur (see ‘adverse circumstances’ section) and thus, increasing the potential we are unable to deliver aerial footage. Summary - Looking for an installation timeframe suggestion around a major event? Target a Go-Live date of 3 weeks prior to event start.

reserving space, step by stepat FlyBy Ads, we’ve partnered with some of the largest real estate companies in the world. this means we have access to rooftops worldwide. with this said, unlike a billboard, these rooftops are working zones. this means that no rooftop is fully guaranteed until building owner permission is granted (as an example, if a building owner is doing construction on the rooftop, we can’t place your sign there.) given this, here are the steps required to reserve a rooftop: Sign our FlyBy-specific Addendum Once step 1 is completed, we reach out to the building owner to confirm we can install the sign during the timeframe requested. After that, one of two paths will occur: (The ideal path/most likely): If the building owner confirms, we will relay this to you. Your deposit will become non-refundable and we will begin the process to install your sign (The less than ideal path/less likely, but still possible): If the building owner rejects the sign (rare, but can happen for construction or other reasons…after all, it’s their rooftop and they have the right to reject the sign), then two additional paths can occur: FlyBy Ads can present a comparable, alternate rooftop…and step 1 will be initiated again FlyBy Ads will refund 100% of the deposit

copy restrictions and approvalsunlike traditional outdoor signage, we face less restrictions and regulations on our copy. that said, all copy must be approved by our site property owners, but generally most copy within reason is approved. less than 1% of all ticketed airline passengers are younger than 18, and only 6% of passengers are aged 18-24 (IATA). we always like to promote positive messaging and are willing to consider bold displays that may not be as encouraged in traditional mediums.
-

forced productionthe nature of a banner rooftop sign is complex and, at times, intricate. therefore, we handle all Production efforts to optimize your sign’s installation process and overall display
-
rooftop display qualityas experts on the rooftop medium we go through the painstaking process of reviewing each roof and its elements to display each sign at its highest possible quality. that said, roof impediments are part of the platform and a reality of nearly every execution. similar to a bus wrap or other non-flat surfaces, a rooftop sign may have a slight curvature and/or small rooftop equipment poking through the sign in certain pre-strategized points. these irregularities are minor and go unnoticed from the viewers on planes above. we recommend reviewing and sharing our spec sheets with the creative team to try to avoid placing complex images on any larger rooftop equipment. we are happy to assist with that process to ensure the best possible display for you and your brand.

These signs are exposed to the elements, weather etc. Is there any way you may have to take them down for safety? What happens then?Installation Specifics & Adverse Circumstances NOTE: If no adverse circumstances are present, FlyBy Ads adheres to all installation deadlines & due dates, as presented in your personalized Project Plan & Installation Timing document. However, it is critical The Client understands that sometimes, situations out of our control may delay installation up to indefinitely. Installation is dependent on several factors that, while usually are consistent, are ultimately out of our control. If any of these factors are adversely affected, this can have a delay, up to an indefinite time period, on the timeframe to complete the installation. If a situation like this occurs, FlyBy Ads does guarantee we will continue to work to install the sign for the client. However, the timeframe for doing so becomes “indefinite” as circumstances are out of our control. This is a reality and a possibility The Client must understand before moving forward with a project with us. If this situation, while unlikely, is to occur, FlyBy Ads will proactively inform The Client of the situation so they can have proper expectations regarding the installation delay. Ex: Severe weather may hit the area, including hurricane force winds. Per our agreement with our building owners, we must cease all installation efforts until the storm passes. Thus, completion of the sign is delayed. The above is just one example and are not exhaustive examples of what may cause a delay. NOTE: If the adverse circumstances cause a delay less than 2 business days, FlyBy Ads will not necessarily add time on the back end of the campaign (although, schedule permitting, they may offer this free of charge at their discretion). If the adverse circumstances cause a delay of 3 or more business days, FlyBy Ads will offer the client the opportunity to add the # of delayed days onto the end of the campaign free of charge. Lastly, if FlyBy Ads is unable to add those days onto the end of the campaign (either due to building owner agreements, future sign agreements or other reasons), FlyBy Ads will offer The Client a partial refund, equivalent to: Prorated Media Fees based on % of missed days: Ex: Media Fees for Project are $74,000/ 28 days Installation was delayed 4 days. 4/28 = 1/7 FlyBy Ads will refund The Client $10,571 Alternatively, the brand may choose to apply 2x this credit towards a future sign: Ex: Given the scenario above, The Client could apply $21, 142 towards a future sign with FlyBy Ads Mid-Project Early Takedown - Weather Event Related NOTE: If no adverse circumstances are present, FlyBy Ads adheres to all installation deadlines & due dates, as presented in your personalized Project Plan & Installation Timing document. This includes adhering to keeping the sign up for all days paid for by The Client However, it is critical The Client understands that sometimes, situations out of our control may necessitate an early takedown, such as extreme weather. This is a reality and a possibility The Client must understand before moving forward with a project with us. If this situation, while unlikely, is to occur, FlyBy Ads will proactively inform The Client of the situation so they can have proper expectations regarding the early takedown Ex: Severe weather is scheduled to hit the area, including hurricane force winds. Per our agreement with our building owners, we must perform an early takedown of the sign, before the weather hits. The above is just one example and are not exhaustive examples of what may cause a delay. If the weather dissipates and FlyBy is able to re-install the sign, FlyBy Ads may choose to do so, in which case, the same policies will apply as the previous section listed: “Installation Specifics & Adverse Circumstances” . However, the decision to re-install or end the campaign is entirely up to the discretion of FlyBy Ads. Your signature below represents your understanding that FlyBy Ads is the ultimate decision maker between the two options (re-install or end campaign early). Should FlyBy Ads choose not to reinstall the sign, thus ending the campaign early, FlyBy Ads will offer The Client a partial refund, equivalent to: Prorated Media Fees based on % of missed days: Ex: Media Fees for Project are $74,000/ 28 days Sign was taken down on day 21 due to weather. Thus, 7 days of the campaign were not completed. 7/28 = 1/4 FlyBy Ads will refund The Client $18,500 Alternatively, the brand may choose to apply 2x this credit towards a future sign: Ex: Given the scenario above, The Client could apply $37, 000 towards a future sign with FlyBy Ads

short displays (less than 4 weeks) and hard takedownswe can accomodate any desired display time. however, a display flight less than 4 weeks will incur the same costs and pricing model as a standard 4-week term. if, for example, your sign is to promote a weekend-long event, we recommend displaying the rooftop sign during the 3 weeks leading up to the event and the 1 week following.
-
extending a campaign beyond 4-weeksit is common that brands are so thrilled with the success of their FlyBy Ad campaign that they want to extend the display term beyond the 4-week period. this is allowed and encouraged, though it is subject to availability and requires extension periods in 4-week terms. the deadline to extend an existing display is 10 days prior to the Display End Date. the cost for the extension period is limited to the following: - media fee (in 4-week increments) - 20% of the total illumination fee (if project includes lighting)
-
props and 3d elements allowedsome creative campaigns may include large props or 3d elements. while we can't guarantee approval of all ideas, we do allow these additions so long as they can be engineered and secured safely.
-

crop circle displayswe are able to execute incredible crop circle displays. we've partnered with one of the most talented earthworks artist in the world. We can create dazzling displays that will grab the world's attention. These are perfect for certain airport markets, as well as a stunt campaign for a variety of PR stories. Here are the highlights of a standard campaign: 1 acre of display space 2-3 weeks to "install" $60-100k* *This is based on a standard display and is always subject to change based on location, size, complexity, etc.
-
projection displaysprojection displays can be used to cover a rooftop, the sides of a building, or directly on the ground. projection projects are complex and require a variety of partners and approvals, but with enough leadtime they can certainly be done in an impactful way to shock and awe viewers.

drone illumination displaysdrone technology is improving dramatically, and can now be used to light up the skies with synchronized shows. depending on your design and animation, we can choreograph the drones to create huge images in the skies and animate them to "wow" any crowd. the costs of drone shows generally comes down to the complexity and detail you prefer. the number of drones used and number of animations is key; the more detailed show, the more drones we will need, and the more it will cost. we like to have at least 60 days notice for drone shows so that we can work together on the animation process, as well as acquire the necessary approvals and permits.
